​Socio-Economic Development of Small and Marginalized Farmers In Scheduled Tribal Region of Dhar Madhya Pradesh though Transfer of Innovative Technology.​

Three Villages tribal dominated of Dhar District in Madhya Pradesh. The poor and marginalized farmers of tribal community were the target of this project.
 

Major Issues Addressed ​

​

Scientific and technical intervention in the traditional cultivation by the tribal group of targeted region for soil conservation and enhancement in production for the betterment of their life style.
 

Objectives  ​

​

The main objective of this project is to improve the economic condition of poor beneficiaries through intervention of technical methods and scientific inputs in the cultivation and harvesting activities to increase the production and improve the land fertility through intervention in wheat and Soyabin. 
 

Description of initiative in brief​

​

Project started in January, 2001 in three villages for the intervention of science and technology, with the help of demonstration of Soyabin and wheat cultivation. Total 30 acre of land was covered with thirty farmers and demonstrated to all the nearby villagers. The beneficiaries selected on the bases of villagers consent in the village level meetings especially tribals. The main tools and techniques used for interaction, motivation and awareness were group discussions, individual discussions, Panchayat level discussions, Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), folkloristic techniques, etc. The farmers were motivated to adopt technology by demonstration on their field. The scientific process disseminated in between of the targeted group through training & good quality of seeds also made available to them. The expert was always available to them for guidance, monitoring and evaluation. After intervention of the project the increment in the first, second and third phase of crop was 19.8%, 38.53% and 24.11% respectively. Other farmers are also taking interest in intervention of new techniques for cultivation of soybean and wheat, which is improving their economic condition and making environment safe.





Awareness Programme on Clean Drinking Water in Orissa, Jharkhand  and Madhya Pradesh

Awareness generation of Clean Drinking Water among Rural and Tribal society of above mentioned districts of various provinces.
 

Objectives  ​

​

• To aware the people about the benefits of clean drinking water.
• To disseminate the knowledge that how they can filter or reform the water for drinking purpose.
• To control over the water borne diseases. 

 

Description of initiative in brief ​

​

Clean water is essential for lively creature otherwise waterborne diseases may be proved epidemic to the village folk. Trust organized 5 camps in various villages of Kalahandi district and one Pani Yatra was organized in Bolangir district. Three awareness campaigns were organized in Jetpura, Gunawad and Utawad villages of Dhar district of MP and one awareness campaign in Sarengdag of Lohardga district of Jharkhand.

SULAXMI covers the exact picture of dying water bodies and the connected tradition. Man-water relation is the zest of this study. Besides, bio-diversity conservation and tribals’ right over natural resources is the prominent part of this study.

Water-soil-botanical heritage-tradition-culture-socio-economic-religious aspects of human society in the context of water-bodies.
 

Objectives  ​

​

To know the perpetual relation among man-water & nature. The traditional rights of tribals over the natural resources and what is being availed by them, is also the theme or objective of this research.
 

Description of initiative in brief ​

​

In different chapters, the objectives have been depicted in a very simple language. The research contains one letter from a tribal of Palamau to the Prime Minister of India.
