The grass root NGO from India basically from Orissa and Kalimanthan (Indonesia) working for capacity building in rural and tribal areas.

Major Issues Addressed

​

The targeted areas selected for capacity building of grassroots NGO in better use of Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) techniques, utilizing available resources and mobilizing more resources by joining network system in Orissa, and Kalimanthan.

Objectives 

​

To give maximum benefit to the society by capacity building of NGOs working at grassroots level was the goal of the project. Train the NGOs by using PRA, Connecting NGOs with networking system were some other objectives of this project.
 

Description of initiative in brief

​

The NGOs were scaled and mapped to be chosen as participant NGOs from Orissa (India) and Kalimanthan (Indonesia). Three mini camps in Orissa, Five mini camps in Kalimanthan, and one main camp in Delhi were organized. The main issues discussed in these camps of Orissa were disputes over tribal land, environment and forest of Orissa: threatened existence, reproductive health, problem of unwed mothers, traditional system of medicines, water conservation, migration, child labor, Implementation of Government schemes, panchayati raj system, drought in Bolengir: The problem forever. The topics discussed in the camps of Kalimanthan were like: sources of funding and self sufficiency, violation against women and social work, smuggling forest items, Increasing population blessing or curse, networking: meaning and technique, social entrepreneurship. There were many other topics, which discussed in these camps. Due to this project a good networking has formed in between of many grass root NGOs, a good level of awareness imparted to the grass root people. Enhancement in reliability, and building of self confidence were also the man part of this project with small and grass root NGOs.
